It's been about 5 years or so since I last did any serious reloading. I mold my own bullets and then load them into rounds. Last time I did it, it cost maybe $2-$3 per box of 50. I did mostly 45acp, .45 long colt, and .460 S&W. However I'm going to order a Free Chex dye, .223/5.56 mold, and a heavier grain 9mm mold since I think the one I have is under 100gr.
Where is the cheapest place to find powder and primers? What about lead scrap...I used to ingot wheel weights but around here there are more and more places that do not use lead wheel weights anymore. What other industries can be hit up for lead scrap to melt down? Thanks -Emt1581 |

Casting is nowhere near the deal it once was. With free wheel weights it wasn't bad. Most of those have disappeared. Buying lead and casting just doesn't add up in my book. Almost everyone I know that was into casting is out of it now.
Reloading components can be found in dozens of places. Some powders are still in short supply but if you're flexible on your loads you can find most of what you need. |

Thanks -Emt1581 Come visit us in the Reloading Forum. http://www.ar15.com/forums/f_6/42_Reloading.html One of the tacked threads at the top of the page has a list of known good venders, http://www.ar15.com/content/page.html?id=398 Scroll down, list in near the bottom of the page. There is also a "help to find" tacked thread at the top of the page to ask where to find components. http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_6_42/274673_Help_to_Find___Where_to_Find_Tools__Components_and_Promotion_Codes_Go_Here__.html&page=297&anc=4409501#i4409501 (this thread is currently on page 297) Don't start a thread and ask, as those questions belong in the tacked thread, as the thread will be locked.
