If you do the expedited service to get a passport, how long does it take? Can it be done in two weeks? I just sent one in to Philly. Used the expedited service and Express to and from. I got it back in 9 8 calendar days. From when they got it, it took 5 3 business days to approve and issue. ETA: I mailed mine on Thursday, it arrived Friday, and was approved and issued on Tuesday. So it was 3 business days for me. ETA again: I used a USPS Money Order. Don't know if that speeds anything up or not? ETA yet again: This was a renewal. My reading comprehension is poor this morning |

Issued and renewed several times for wife and I. Always considered expedited but never did. Each time the passports were returned in less than three weeks. However if time was of the essence I would expedite. Where are you going? I won a trip through work to go to Cabo San Lucas. I leave Oct 3rd, so I need to get going on this. |

If you leave October 3rd - you will be OK doing expedited service. Get on the stick and knock it out today or toomorrow. |

My wife had to get her drivers license update with the correct address, which she just got back. We have our birth certificates. Do I need anything else to expedite? |

I think in some post offices they can take the pictures for you but it's just easier to have them taken before hand. |

Go to FedEx/Kinko. Around here, Walgreens does passport photos. Dont screw around with photos. The size of pic and how much of your face that fills the photo matters. Dont risk getting it sent back because you cheaped out on passport photos or find out the passport office camera is down. Get the pics in hand when you go. You are screwed on timing. To get the .gov to expedite, you have to be traveling within two weeks. Yet, if you don't get it expedited, you may not get it until 2 weeks after your trip dates. Gotta love the .gov. ![]() |

My daughter is ten, so we had to go to the county clerk to get this done. They actually took photos there. Fedex is ridiculous (like $16 for a photo). The post office will take photos, but our local post office was backed up two months on appointments. Personal checks. |

It's expensive but can be done. Although it's been a while, I know someone that got there's in 3 days and it was around $400. |

Yeah good points about photos - Fedex is expensive but the photos do need to be right. Background, lighting, and no smiling. |
