I believe that gov't re-distribution is immoral.
I also believe that we are seeing the results of the immoral policies we have been following. Repeal the 16th amendment, (it conflicts with the 13th anyway). Do away with Social Security. Reduce the minimum wage to about negative $10 an hour. Yes, I used to support eliminating the minimum wage. I still do, but, I find that calling for a reduction seems to get people's attention better. |

So total benefits in 9 states near or OVER the equivalent of a $40k a year job. Lets see... Hawaii DC Massachusetts Connecticut NY NJ Rhode Island Vermont New Hampshire Maybe I should not bother looking for another job and move to one of those to live off the state? At the other end, there are 10 states that provide less that the equivalent of a $14k/year job. How Dare They! Don't they know that its impossible to live on that little? Welfare should provide no less than a Living Wage!!!!  |

As a .gov employee I see this daily, folks that have just slid by for many years and have no skills and knowledge but are untouchable from getting fired and know it. Did I mention most are making a hefty salary and will be getting a hefty retirement for they rest of their life. As for welfare, it should't exist period..................period. |

A) Well that's a failure on their leadership for evaluating those individuals in such a way that they are promotable. Not an indictment on the military. B) maintaining wartime manning numbers is tough, you're gonna get some riffraff. I take it you're not still in, downsizing is taking care of this problem. Besides all that, to compare a sub par military member with a welfare queen is terrible comparison. That sub par performer still works and sacrifices a noteworthy amount. |

13 states make more than I do with 30 years of experience, and some pay better than some jobs at the top of my profession. Even my executive protection job for a Fortune 100 corporation made less than a welfare recipient in 12 states, although that was over a decade ago. Most of that list make quite a bit more than when I was National Operations Manager for the world's largest security firm in Cambodia.
Sheesh. I might as well just come back to the States and sit on my ass. |

Don't work, don't go to school don't have kids one kid has some sort of medical issues is always on a profile has been in 4 years never done a real pt test since basic and is 5'10 260 lbs given constant paperwork denied the chance to test for E5 and not allowed to re enlist. They are doing everything they can to try and get medically retired but I think they got denied because they cannot find anything wrong |
