Just saw this kit http://www.slickguns.com/product/complete-ar15-rifle-anderson-lower-337 Everything but a rear sight for $337.42? Wow. I know PTAC is not the best but still, it'll shoot.

Damn!!
Even with shipping and ffl fees it should still be easily under $400.
That's a pretty staggering price even if not top flight.

Cant be worse than whatever Blackthorne/Vulcan/Hesse is calling themselves these days (other than "the guns of special forces" of course).

For that price who gives a shit if they are not the best or bottom rung AR's

Cheap price for cheap parts. But I try to buy a little better quality than Ptac.
8/26/2015 10:10:00 PM EDT
[#5]
I bought a Bushmaster Carbon-15 with a red dot on it for $435 or so and got a $50 rebate back for a net price of $385.  The only thing that is unusual is there is no flash hider on the barrel.

And I tend to agree with that mindset.
Understand that I am new to AR's and have contemplated all sorts from full price Colts to low cost Del-Tons and S& W Sport.
What I finally did was purchase a complete Spikes lower and just yesterday a  back in stock PSA mid length with a melonite barrel for an absolute total cost of $594.49 out the door..
That's not sub $400 and I'm by no means trying to gloat but sometimes there is a reason it's $400 vs $600.
Still though for under $400 it is still an absolutely smoking deal.
Some people just don't make enough to go above that at this moment.

Which is exactly why I was not knocking those low prices.
Shit guy if I could find a complete DPMS at $250 like the other poster noted I would buy two just for fucks sake.

This is a great price, and will only push prices down on other models. This is always a good thing.

Parts might not be the best, but if it brings in new shooters i'm all for it.

Not everyone goes to a COLA Warrior event and has their stuff dragged through the FEMA swamp. Glad they do that since it is great shit just that I'll be 60 in six weeks and I don't drag my shit through the FEMA swamp. Mine rides with me in my car to and from the range or stand. So, I can get away without a dustcover. Don't have a dustcover on my Glock either. Got a couple of 80% lowers and that would fit the plan I have for those.

I already own a few quality AR's. So I picked up a $299 slickside kit and will add a $35 Anderson lower to finish it. Trunk junk.

Rumor has it that HiPoint is releasing a $229 AR later this year.

I've acquired such a collection of spares and cast offs over the years that I could probably assemble 3 or 4 ARs anytime I want to, for "free."  They'd  probably be complete with decent optics and accessories like that brand spanking new Pentagonlight  Light/ laser combo I bought years ago that's still in the box. OH! and Grip-pods! Everyone would have some sort of rail system and muzzle device that used to be cool.

The member who got a $250 Bushmaster from Walmart the other day has that beat. And while not as cheap, another got two Magpul Edition Colt 6920s for $500. IMO a much better value.

$466 total. I used Daytona's 7.5" pistol build kit and added a Kak flash can and Ergo dickmod covers.

Have you assembled it yet?

There are some great AR deals out there. It is purely due to the mass production of parts pushing the price down.

There is way less actual work in something like semi-auto 22, but they are selling  for only $100-150 less than a budget AR, that has far more complex parts in it. The AR is still an $800 rifle, but now available for way less due to mass production... stock up!!

I drove about 45 minutes after being on phone for about 30 min calling WMs in less populated areas

Semi rural WM had 1 DPMS and 1 BM patrolman carbine

Bought the BM as guy standing behind me wanted whatever I didn't take , could have been a ass and bought both bit I am a nice guy

And not terribly fond of Oracles anyway

Also had a 308 DPMS and cheap tactical shotguns

But now yeah all long gone
