This seems like the dumbest, fad diet idea ever. Do you really think that cavemen didn't eat grains or legumes or potatoes?
I'm pretty sure they ate everything they could find. Why? Because fuck being hungry. Eat what is available. These silly fad diets are doing people more harm than good. Everyone is looking for a quick fix to being fat. Just stop being a dumbass. |

It's probably a safe bet they ate whatever they could get their hands on and were likely scavengers. Plant matter was probably the biggest part of their diet with the lucky but rare meat score.
Their main meat source would have typically been equivalent to week old roadkill. Basing a modern diet on what we think a bunch of primitive primates were eating seems stupid. Kinda falls into the "fuck science " type of thinking. |

It's been in the news lately- cooking not only allowed early humans to better utilize meat, but also allowed us to eat things that were previously inedible like starches. There are bound to be some negative consequences that come with that, more so with completely artificial ingredients. We're still figuring out the biochemistry of these culinary new frontiers. Some people do way better just eating the foods that the human body has had millions of years of practice on- meat, fruit, and vegetables. Eating less without being hungry, better physical performance, and improved health biomarkers are pretty common. In my best physical condition on a standard diet I couldn't maintain good performance after five hours or so without eating. On a low carb paleo-type diet I've done a 24 hour fast and then played two hours of ultimate frisbee in the snow with no real loss of performance other than some brain fog toward the end. For some people it's worth it. For healthy people who really like food it's often not. |
