I thinking I'm being paranoid because of crap I read a while back.
Is the latest update for JS safe? |

Quoted:
Javascript is implemented by your browser. You don't "update" it, unless you update the browser itself. I think you're referring to the Java Runtime Environment. Do you even need the JRE? Most people don't, on non-work computers. I get a "pop up" every time I restart my laptop wanting to update Javascript??? |

Java Auto Updater "A new version of Java is ready to be installed." java ain't javascript. if you're on firefox, version 40 needs the latest libnpjp2.so from java 1.8 to work at all. chrome is super flakey with regards to ava and as been for a while since they deviated from "standard" plugin architecture. what browser? eta also i am so far removed from windows and apple... so forgive me if none of that made sense. just make sure it's not spyware/virus/other nonsense before you click on anything. |
