From their specs, aren't they on the heavy side? Definitely depends on what you're comparing them to. For reference, I have a govt profiled 16 inch barrel and went from a midwest industries FF to a Geisselle SMR Mk8. Is it a tad bit heavier? Sure, but with irons and an elzetta hanging off the end, the rifle still only clocks in around 7ish pounds. If your goal is to be ultra light, go elsewhere. But if you previously liked the DD quad rails or KAC quads and wanted to get into a newer HG system, than the geissele is a natural contender IMO. |

From their specs, aren't they on the heavy side? Compared to what? A bunch of rails. As NEASGNoMercy posted, a BCM KMR. I have a Spike's rail (SAR I think, maybe 4-5 years old now) and a newer Fortis REV2 rail, and they are much lighter. When I was shopping for rails, I found a bunch that weren't that much heavier. I haven't dropped them out of helicopters but both seem pretty sturdy, the Fortis more so. |

I don't really care to try to find them all, since I'm not shopping for rails now. Most list their weights in their specs on the websites. |

You're nitpicking and you skipped over my response to your initial question as well. Geissele quality > KMR quality by a fucking mile. You can have ultra light, or you can have ultra quality. Take your pick. |

The only rail even close to $500 on there is the HK SMK ($438) and if someone is putting it on an HK then $ isn't really a concern. Midwest makes great rails though, but the price difference between MI and GA is no where near what you say. |

I'm super tempted, but the minutely heaver rail has been my hold up so far from picking up a G. With that said I own the following:
2 Larue Rails (13.2" & 9") 2 BCM KMR Rails (10" and 7") 2 MI Lightweight M-Lok Rails (15" and 9") And a few other various misc ones. Long story short, the Larue rails are probably heavier or equal, but I haven't looked it up. This new cheaper pricing and free gas block may just make me start using them though. Fantastic value to be had there. ETA: Nevermind. While they are not significantly heavier, it's just a few ounces. At least comparing an average ~13" Rail. I'll definitely have to save a few pennies for some. |

Just because a rail is light doesn't necessarily mean it isn't quality. And I'm a fan of Geissele triggers, have at least a half a dozen of them. |

. Way over priced and a BCM KMR beats it hands down in every department! Except for durability. Which is arguably the most important to some people. Also in the very important dickmodnothavingness category. |

Geissele 13" Mk4 MLOK - $250 vs. BCM KMR 13" - $269.95 Was he talking about the KMR being "overpriced?"

I'll be buying one soon for my current build. Geissele is only about 5 miles from me, so good to support local business.
Since I'm building with some fde parts, I need to figure out if I want the sand color rail. Wonder if they would let me stop by and hand pick a rail that's the closest match to magpul fde .

The photos of the rails on the banner is a good representation of the shades you can expect. |
