I have a 1994 Riviera Cobra. The automatic fold-out step by the entry door is not working. It works sometimes, when it wants to. It's actuated by a button on the door frame that is supposed to open it when the door swings open. I can hear the relay clicking on but nothing happens. I can see a red box mounted on the underside of the step. I guess that's where the relay is. Any suggestions? The batteries are charged so rules that out.

Shoot wd40 at points of movement. Shoot the crude out, if not there is a motor and servo. Use a meter to check the continuity of the switch too. just have to run the issue down.  Mine was just cruded up.

I did lube up the contact points. I guess I'm trying to find out if there's a common problem that someone familiar with these things knows about.
