I brought out my bushmaster yesterday and chambered a round,a little voice told me to take a peek, when I did I noticed that the bullet had rammed all the way back into the brass.I have never heard of that happening before,Is it just a bad round or is my bushy sick? By the way I was using norinco 55 grain fmg.

It could be the ammo.  You might ask over in the ammunition forum.

I've seen instances like you experienced. It usually is either due to the neck of the brass not holding the bullet with sufficient tension (no crimp, brass out of spec, q.a. problems) or the tip of the round catching somewhere on the feed ramp.

Happens.
I've had it happen with pmp(?  the white, black and red box).  It still goes bang.  I figure, this stuff isn't loaded near maximum chamber pressure, I don't think the setback will cause an over pressure problem.

Thanks for the help,I thought it was just a bad crimp but just wanted to make sure it would go bang, and not KABOOM!. I have been through about 700 rnds of this stuff with no hiccups but I think I will keep a closer look on it from now on [headbang]

A setback bullet will jack up pressures.

If it’s not a hot round to begin with, you may get away with shooting it.

But why risk it?   Compare the cost of the your AR to the cost of that one round!!

I’d toss the round!

I’d also use a little bit better ammo in a $700 plus rifle!  [:D]
