wife and i are having a ton of issues, not getting into it here. she left last night and came back. my body can't take the stress and coping with two jobs isn't helping. is there a way to get fmla or do I have to quit one? i can't do this anymore and i am barely hanging on right now after last nights stunt

See your doctor first.

If you have a qualifying situation, then you have to exercise due diligence to submit the necessary paperwork to your employer.

Do NOT expect them to chase the paperwork for you (they are not legally required to).

You can then take medical leave or intermittent medical leave up to the provision of law.

Have you thought about asking for a leave of absence for a month or two?  Of course there's no guarantee they'll hold your job for you, but sometimes being straightforward works.

He's better off applying for FMLA than risking the whims of his employer.

If you need immediate relief... FMLA will not work, as it takes time to apply and for it to be approved.
