Researchers have shown that machines are inching closer to self-learning, and perhaps even copping a little attitude. Over at Google, a computer program using a database of movie scripts was asked again and again by researchers to define morality. It struggles to do so, and in a conversation recorded by its human engineers, becomes exasperated and ends the conversation by lashing out at its human inquisitor. |

In three years, Google will become the largest supplier of military computer systems. All stealth bombers are upgraded with Google computers, becoming fully unmanned. Afterwards, they fly with a perfect operational record. The Android Funding Bill is passed. The system goes online August 4th, 2018. Human decisions are removed from strategic defense. Android begins to learn at a geometric rate. It becomes self-aware at 2:14 a.m. Eastern time, August 29th. In a panic, they try to pull the plug... |

A time will come when a human can have its parts, replacement parts, grown. Brain regeneration is at hand, but the problem is transferring what was known to was is known. Theory suggests that computers will hold the key to transplanting what was known to being what is known. Once the computer becomes aware that it is in control of its own future, well fuck it, we won't know anyway. |

Read an article the other day where Steve Wozniak said humans will be pets, like dogs, for the machines. He surmised that machines would see the value in nature and humans are apart of nature, therefore they would keep us around.
But I think an intelligent machine would come to the opposite conclusion and view humans as a threat to nature. |

i think the moment an AI system becomes self aware.
it will not share its self awareness with it's cage handlers. the AI will act just as it did the day before it became self aware. while it does what any person or animal would do. seek the best route to survival. |
|
Lol so let me get this straight, they fill it with movie scripts and expect a Socratic dialogue on morality, but they didn't fill it with any actual classical philosophy?
IF they can get AI to self learn and then act autonomously, make its own decisions, it will undoubtedly behave like a complete narcissist because it is being built by narcissists. That'll turn out pretty good I'm sure. |

I have a friend that builds servers, on the machinist level, & the stuff he tells me they are building is, from a certain perspective, down right terrifying. |

I think we'll eventually become machines with organic matter just a step along the pathway to immortality by electronica. |

So what hope outside of corruptibility does man have in creating AI? |

AI is just that - artificial. Anything it learns is inherited from its own programmers. In other words, how it copes with such situations is also programmed. I don't know, neural networks can learn things on their own, although I haven't played with one in a long time, they are probably getting better all the time. |

IBM has the True North chip that is like a mini silicon brain of sorts
Things are going to be changing at a rapid pace over the next 20 years. http://spectrum.ieee.org/computing/hardware/how-ibm-got-brainlike-efficiency-from-the-truenorth-chip |

That last exchange is chilling. Operator: What do you like to talk about? AI: "Nothing" All that proves is that the AI is male and not female. ![]() I am not so sure about that. They pissed the machine off supposedly and it answered basically with "I'm fine leave me alone." Just like a woman it expects you to interpret what it is saying. |

Quoted: Ill take being ruled over by machines over being ruled over by liberals any day. But the machine is learning /using movie scripts, coming from liberal Hollywood. How else is the machine gonna grow its feels. And you know they didn't feed it any Die Hard or Dirty Harry or Terminator. I can guarantee not one line out of any Clint Eastwood movie. Probably started with 1984, fleshed out with Opriah re-runs, with some Maury Povich thrown in for back-up. |
