Sucks. I've had enough. I'm looking for a personal French press that's good for an office (so probably not glass). Anyone have any suggestions? I found an interesting one at REI that has good reviews.

Don't drink their French Roast? I like their house blend and Christmas blend. My favorite coffee come from my parents in Kenya in a Ziploc bag still covered in oil. Had three cups this morning. |

One of our new employees said she'd bought a good coffee press and kept it in her office for herself at her last place of employment because she couldn't stand the "coffee service" swill in the employee break room.
She had to take it home after just a few weeks because of everyone in her office stealing from her, and her bosses thinking they were ENTITLED to steal from her daily. She said she started by putting a money jar next to the pot, but everyone seemed to thing that about a nickel a cup was all they needed to ante up, so she took it all home and only brings what she can get into a thermos now. |

That will probably happen to me. Found the one linked on amazon in a different color, ended up grabbing it. Had enough Amazon points to get it free. |

Don't bother with a press.
Pour not quite boiling water (190-205 is best) into a double-walled stainless container with fresh ground coffee. The ratio of coffee to water is approximately 2 tablespoons coffee to 8 oz. water. Vary to suit your taste. Wait 5 minutes, stirring gently once per minute. Pour coffee through a reusable metal mesh filter. Rinse out the double-walled container. It's way easier to clean than a French Press. Thank me later. |

In my experience, the "Pour Over" coffee brewing method provides easier clean up at work than a french press. ETA: regular pour over with paper filters. Just toss the filter and rinse the funnel thing. Paper filters absorb oils that make the coffee taste better. Heretic! |

Never understood this fascination with Starbucks Coffee. Tastes burnt to me. some people like strong coffee as opposed to a lukewarm cup of coffee creamer. I have a small keurig I keep in a common area at work & I grind my own espresso that I get from the local roaster. The mini keurig filters are cheap & effective if you would prefer not to deal with a press. |

If you go the French press route grind is really important.
The most important part of good coffee is recently roasted. Coffee is at its peak flavor after two days (to rest) and two weeks from roasting. If their is a roaster in your area I would get fresh roasted and French press ground coffee from them. Forget about expensive coffees or blends, just get single origin Central Americans. |

And the only person who complains is the hoity-toity lib who brings in the preground Starbucks packages. They give me heartburn every time I use them. |

This happened at my last job, luckily I had access to a locked supply closet and I put the coffee pot and supplies in the closet. |
