What MOS is the most fun, out and out, in today's Army? Also, which boot by Danner is approved for uniform wear? Thanks |

19K, without a fucking doubt!!!! (19K, btw, is an M1 Abrahms crewman) I was a 13B (field artillery cannon crewman-fancy name for a "gun Bunny" as we are called), which is ok, except that you have to deal with a camo net the size of the f*cking superdome. also: back when the M60 was in general service, we called tankers "DATs" (dumb-ass tankers), but after the M1 came out, we started calling them "CDATs" (Computerized Dumb-ass tankers) Seriously, tankers have THE job!!! I never met a tanker whose eyes didn't light up when he talked about his job. |

Quoted: If I had the enlisted side to do over again, I'd be a crew chief on a chopper. I'm headed to flight school in the fall as a 2LT. Get to fly around and man the door gun... Who wouldn't want to man an M60 buzzing over the trees? crewing or flying it best way to go! |

It depends on what you mean by fun. If you want an easy free ride and have a chance to get lots of college do something like 31Q which is basically a graphic artist so you dont do a whole lot and you have lots of free time. I had a few friends who did this and they got lots of college done on active duty and where at home partying every night. If you mean exciting and worthwhile by fun then go 95B which is Military Police from there you can do PSD protective service detail or you can go SRT mp equal to civilian SWAT you can go to Siper school and Airborne, Air Assault, Pathfinder, SF, K9, EOD, CID, MPI, Traffic and so many other school it is not even funny. And if you want action volunteer for 977th MP Co at Ft Riley KS they are the most combat deployed unit, Their Bn Banner looks like a freaking mop head with all the battle streamers. And you will never feel like you are not doing the most you can for your country and you will have skills to get you a job on the outside when you get out. |

SERIOUSLY Depends on what you want to do Pound ground? 11BangBang Blow shit up? 12Bravo Shoot big guns? 13B See where HUGE fucking shell are landing (and hope it's not close to you) 13Foxtrot Artillery Forward Observer...aka "shortround" 19D CavScout(IIRC) 19K Tanker 68tons of steel 92M Mortuary Affairs Specialist 98C SIGINT/EW Analyst! |

And what is a likely duty station? i think its 67u. station anywhere in the world where you are needed or requested in your contract. but your first assignment maybe to a repair company before you get to a line unit.that is to get you familar with the aircraft before assuming a crewcheif postion.once you get the crewcheif slot you get flight pay amount don't know now a days 91 i think it was 150 a month and you usually draw sepert rations allowance,i think that is based on your pay grade. |

I don't remember the designation. Hell, they have Blackhawks just about everywhere. It doesn't get much better than buzzing around in a helicopter. Kinda like a non-stop rollercoaster ride. 12B = Pounding pickets, laying minefields, stretching concertina(nasty stuff). Engineers definately work for a living and don't get much credit when it is due... I was interested in being a tanker, but I'm 6'6". I'd knock myself out inside an armored vehicle. I'm just under the height requirements to fly. Airborne would be fun, but I've carried a ruck enough to know that I'd rather throw it in the back of the bird... Not to mention that I had a knee injury from a skiing accident a few years back. I'd like to go to jump school, but I worry that it would screw my knee up worse than it is. |

Quoted: Airborne Infantry. I've been around the world twice an seen it once! I've parachuted from jets, props, and helos. I've done more hooah things than I can remember. There's none so fair that they can compare to the airborne infantry! |

19K I would say is the most fun. But if you like lots of free beer... 45E or 63E M1 Abrams turret/ hull mech. Just be the best and the crews pay off in cases.. WhooHooo!! So I would like to say thanks to all the 19K out there!! You made my time in service very enjoyable! |

12B You will learn there is no limit to the ways a 19 year old American can figure to blow something up given enough time and explosives... and you will try them all. You will learn that no matter how much $$$ and computers the gov sticks in a tank, you can stop it with 6 guys, some pickets, some wire and a few minutes to set it up. You will find that other units will fight over you, and most manuever unist will give anything to get a squad of 12B's to help em out for a few hours. You will work longer, harder, and in worse conditions than anyone else in the Army, and probably in the world, with little recognition. While it sounds bad, it also results in the second effect, you will become a member of a very tight knit fraternity whos esprit de corps and pride is only rivaled by the USMC. You will also earn the respect of any combat soldier out there, as they have all seen how hard we work and all have been glad to see us working in thier area. ESSAYONS! |

I dont know any MOS's in the army but I was a crew chief on a CH-46E, It was a pretty good job, but the days were long. The missions were fairly short 2-4 hours so I didnt have to fly the long missions the CH-53's did, the huey guys had it pretty good as they got to shot the minigun, and worked with smaller units. I used to always ask other guys how they liked their MOS, goods, bads, etc. I came to the conclusion that all enlisted jobs have ups and downs, for every job that the military offers there is a catch, mine was I had to work a minimum of 10 hours a day and while deployed that turned into minimum of 12 hours 7 days a week. |

I'll have to agree with all who recommend the 67 series. I was a 67V Observation/Scout Crew Chief and I had a blast! If you plan on getting into aviation after you get out it provides a very good start into aviation maintenance. Germany 1986 |

12B Combat Engineer. Try life inside minimum safe distance. You’ll get used to having the air sucked out of your lungs and the ground pounding your chest. Question: When will a Colonel obey orders form a Specialist (E-4)? Answer: When the fuse is lit. That is a fact. Damn I miss that stuff. I am soft like a Twinkie now. |

Quoted: you got that right , i wen to junp school got the wings and they put me in a leg unit . Wings became just another thing to take care of uniform wise :( I forgot all about airborne. I have been on 1 jump with an instructor. Holy crap, it was probably the most fun I've ever had, and I decided that is what I want to do. So... I could be a 12B in an Airborne unit? 'Chute in and blow shit up!?!? MY TWO MOST FAVORITE THINGS! |
