They are working on it, they want the nano's to go through the body destroying cancer cells.
Once perfected they can destroy a brain tumor that was inoperable before , or other cancers like pancreatic cancer maybe?

I think they're probably working on genetically engineered microbes that will be injected and will target cancer, plaque in the arteries, all sorts of stuff. Probably isn't too far off
