I once attended an autopsy of a 2 month old baby. Complete disassemble. I mean complete, right down to fully skinning the kid out. Removing, and separating every organ, including the brain and testicles. The experience was unpleasant. Skinning the body in med schoolmdefinitely gave me the heebie jeebies. Though I was never a fan of the more "energetic" techniques used to dissect the cadavers. |

One of my dissection partners thought pretty highly of himself. We were reviewing the abdominal aorta and I had cut out a section and replaced it with the penis which we had already dissected. He picked it up and started to talk about the different layers of the the aorta and then finally noticed it was a penis. We all burst out laughing. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

My son just completed his first year of Med School. When the year began, there was a Parents Day to introduce us to what their lives are going to be like for the next 4 years.
We got to see the cadavers they had already started on, and they also had a lab with plenty of sample organs, etc. It isn't for everyone, that is for sure. LC |

Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile This child was a murder victim. If anyone in the room had treated those remains with anything less than the utmost respect, and dignity, well, there would have been problems, to say the least. Fortunately, the ME and the staff were conscientious, and professional. |
