| Anybody have a Fire Stick that you have jail broken? A friend was telling me about KODI and how great it is. Is this enough for me to get rid of cable? |

I haven't dove to deep into it yet so I certainly couldn't suggest getting rid of your cable but it is pretty damn nice for watching movies. I haven't played with finding live TV on it yet. ETA: I have KODI on mine. It unlocks all sorts of content that would otherwise be unavailable, correct? |

No need to "jailbreak". It sounds like you just need to sideload some apps.

My firestick is 100 X better than my philips smart TV. Most of these TV's seem like the 'smart' part was an afterthought Quoted:

My TV has Netflix, Hulu and Amazon apps built in. What is the advantage of a Fire TV Stick or Chromecast? Will they buffer better? My firestick is 100 X better than my philips smart TV. Most of these TV's seem like the 'smart' part was an afterthought This is troof. "Smart" TVs are pretty much universally crappy. As far as installing Kodi on a Firetv, I have been told it is easy to load and runs pretty smoothly. Much quicker and more responsive then on a Dragonbox. But I wouldn't know, because naughty…. IMO, this stuff is getting way to popular to not become problematic. Everybody and their grandmother is selling D-boxes and sideloaded Firesticks. Only a matter of time before people start getting very unpleasant surprises from Hollywood lawyers, their ISP and/or the FBI. |
