My stock 1ls Camaro comes with 245/55/18 on a 7.5" wheel.  What options are safe for the wheel and will keep my speedometer relatively accurate?

Keep it xxx/55R18,  as width 245+ doesn't matter up to P265 IIRC.

They don't make that tire in any size that i would recommend for your vehicle.

If he goes wider, he needs to go down in aspect ratio (the 55 here) to maintain height. But, every manufacturer is different, so best to try to find tire diameter listings

Yeah, I know.  I've thought about upgrading to the 20" wheels.

I think the 245 is already stretching the 7.5" wheels though right?

The 55 is a ratio of width to height. A wider tire will be taller too.

A 265 55 18 is almost an inch taller than a 245 55 18

Usually the manufacturer will list the acceptable rim widths for a given tire model and size.  That being said, a 245 on a 7.5" rim is probably about as wide as you want to go.  If you want wider, get wider rims.

so agreed - for 245 you should prolly have 8" or 8.5" width

I'm running 225/50 factory spec on my 7.5, and that is apparently about at limit

245/45ZR20 is .2% difference in rolling diameter, and is available for that tire.

Any opinions on the Kumho Ecsta PA31?  Made in China, so I'm already iffy.
