Congrats on getting rid of a piece of GM junk! 4Runner would've brushed that hit right off. At least it wasn't a gator! OP, I'm glad your wife is okay--and it wasn't her fault. That (wife okay) is what matters. |

Congrats on getting rid of a piece of GM junk! 4Runner would've brushed that hit right off. My landcruiser with ARB bumper has a mustang and a Kia optima as kills. I wasn't driving either time. I was driving when I smashed into a big ass boulder on a trail, the two car on car incidents left nary a scuff, but the boulder banged the ARB up pretty good.

I've been there... Minus she was at fault and had 10000 on it. Ran under ass end of a fuel tanker doing 40. No air bags went off. Lost $10000 on that car. Walked away with only some soreness.
I'll post pictures in a bit. Darn phone. Take solace in the fact she's unhurt. You can replace the car. |

Decently dressed middle aged couple Middle aged don't mean nothing, did they speak English? She never talked to them. The cops kept them separated. The other car was about 50 yads way in the median. The firetruck was trying to block traffic, but lunch hour traffic be lunch hour trafficking. Also, my wife has a witness |

You might be alright OP. That 4 Runner had 130k miles on it. No airbag deployment, and insurance didn't total it. Quoted:

My wife was in a wreck like that about 18 months ago, a 2011 Altima.
Some dip turned right in front of here at a intersection. About $14,000 in damage, Insurance wouldn't total it, this car will never be the same. I stopped by the shop one day to check on it, they let me go see it. The entire front of the car from the firewall forward had been removed and rebuilt. All the engine and drivetrain was fine, frame, body panels, radiator, etc, was destroyed. |
| go ahead and call/email/facebook billy. Read up on his website, good information there. |

I'm surprised your wife didn't get the insurance info before she left.
How I used to do crashes was get to scene see if anyone is hurt move it if possible if it's blocking traffic. Then I would give both parties a info sheet after getting their dls and running them. The sheets where carbon so they would write it once and make I think 2 copies. Anyways people would be filling those out as I questioned all involved it have them something to do and cut down on time to process scene while keeping them from starting shit with each other. Then I would exchange the forms between them and keep a copy for myself in case I needed some of that info for potential accident report. If it was one where I would do a report and not just babysit insurance info exchange I'd write the case # on the info exchange paperwork for them so they could get the report easy peasy. That was standard procedure where I worked I'm definitely not smart enough to think that all up on my own. Personal accidents only one I can think of I didn't have drivers insurance info before I left was in highschool I was stopped at a red light and an illegal hit me going 50 or so. His excuse was "dude some guys." Followed by "yo no tengo un license or insurencia." So obviously I wasn't gonna get one there Good luck OP. |

That isn't what I expect to see in a "no airbag deployment" crash. Yikes. I had an Infiniti G35 coupe that the damage looked similar, maybe a little worse and the airbags didn't deploy. I was surprised to say the least. Frame ended up being bent and it was totaled. Good luck OP |
