That post, combined with your sigline, is the funniest thing I have seen on this forum.

(I guess the perp will get to try the latter option)

Good.  I remember reading a home invasion incident in the police blotter of our paper.  The home invader busted in with a .338 bolt action rifle, the home dweller blasted him with an AK.

Take that.

Ya won't read that in a New Jersey newspaper!

I wonder if it was an ex-boyfriend or the child's paternal father or a goon squad hired by ex? Sux to be him. Good guy ought to find something a little less powerfull for the apartment though, I'd be worried about over penetration from the 7.62x39.

Score one for the good guys for sure but IMHO it was a BIG, BIG mistake not to aim for center of mass the first time. (maybe he did and missed?) Deadly force is either justified or it is not. It might also be a problem that the good guy fired that second shot especially if the immediate threat was over. It is a shame but the fact is that there is a pretty good chance that with the help of some broke dick lawyer the perp will sue the homeowner. Good guy will win in the end but not until after it costs him plenty for legal fees. I'll never forget what my gunny told me just before my first tour of guard duty at Camp LeJeune many years ago.  "PFC, if there is a round fired out here I better find a dead body when I come back. Dead men tell no tales." If deadly force is ever justified at my house I hope to make sure that when it's over I am the only one talking to the police.

Hey CS223, good comment about a jersey newspaper, but around here, we call it New Germany. It is a freaking police state.

True, but this guy likely has very few assets to go after, and being in an apartment complex, has no homeowners policy to attack.  No money is a bit of a deterrent to a lawyer.

Good point DriftPunch. Makes me feel better too because I'm kinda in the same place money wise. (X Wife, 3 kids and a bride to be make sure it stays that way) Maybe not a bad thing to be "unsueable"........
