| My Dad emeailed me the family tree for our family that dates all the way back to the 1700's in Ireland. My middle name came from the maiden name of my great great.... well a grandmother from 1790's who begat the first known in our namesake bloodlines. Seems to be lots of tradition in our family as some of my uncles and cousins first and middle names are from Irish ancestors. Well it turns out that I'm 3rd gen Irish on my Dad's side and this tree is very comprehensive. We come from a place called Lurgan, Armaugh County Ireland. Apparently I have relatives still in Ireland. I'd like to get the tree for my Mom's side. I know that it goes back pretty far also. Now what do I do with all this new info? |

Avengusa, My great grdma was an "injun" too. On my Dad's mom side. Apparently it was a taboo thing in the family(uptight Irish Protestants) and she isn't on the tree as it only follows the family name(paternal). She died in 1976 so nobody knows too much about her. I vaguely remember her. I remember she had some sort of "tattoo" on her arm but nobody even knows what tribe she was from. Some say Chippewa and some say Cree? Who knows? It is almost like she didn't exist in our family. I wish I could find out more about her. |

my uncle has spent alot of time doing the whole geneology thing. he has traced us back to a fellow named Pierre Balan dit LaCombe. Pierre was married in 1610 to Perrine Courier. that is the farthest back date he has come up with so far. he has approximately 2200 people so far on our family tree. he has really gotten into this family tree since he retired. he gave me a binder he made that is about an inch thick with all the information he has gathered so far. really interesting stuff. |
