I don't know if the Elftmann triggers have been discussed here or not but I picked up a few this week and used one on a new build today. It is with out a doubt one of the smoothest triggers I have ever squeezed.

Here's a few pictures-

A picture of the bearing set up from their website-

And lastly the gun its resting in now-

More details; but this has the potential to get ugly since there is only one after market trigger that is acceptable around here.

I'm not sure what more I can say. I built a new gun with a new trigger. The trigger feel is better than any thing I've ever pulled before. As far as what's acceptable here I assume your meaning a Geissle, I own a lot of them as well as Timneys. The Elf trigger is impressive IMHO.

How light is the trigger? Price? Where to find them?

It's adjustable from 2.5 to 4 pounds. I haven't put  the trigger gauge on it yet but I have mine in the middle of its adjustment range.

If they locked up, wouldn't it be the same as a regular trigger?

I'm a big fan of Geissele, but I'll say that there are other great triggers.

It's all personal preference. Two people can try out the same trigger and come away with opposing views.

That's an interesting trigger. The price is a little steep for not being, well, a Geissele.

I would expect  that dealers will most likely sell them for less than the website does. I didn't pay retail for mine(but then again my good friend owns the shop I buy from). I see the pricing on them as between a Timney and a SD3G.

Guns are no longer for combat ..........they are all about looks, and how much money you can squeeze into one to impress your friends at the range.

Maybe on the outside of use, you might see one or two used in playful competition.

$300 is too rich for my blood.

I've been a big G trigger fan.

I used a TTU-M2 on the last gun I built.  It's damn nice.  I may be going this route from now on.

This.

Single stage triggers are poor for tactical use (IMHO) due to not being able to preload the trigger like you can effectively on a 2 stage or a milspec.

I'm guessing if you think Elftmann is the smoothest ever then:

You havent used a CMC

You havent used the trigger in anywhere but a pristine environment.

Triggers with ball bearings are not a good idea in dusty or muddy environments.

I actually have owned a few CMC triggers also.

As for as using them in something other than a pristine environment? All I can do is use them in the environment I live in. I'm not in a war zone or a desert so my experience is limited to carbine classes when I have time, shooting at my range, and hunting.

I posted about the trigger because I liked it, sorry that I'm not a Tier 1 operator.

got mine in and it's a fucking $250 paperweight.
It would sometimes make the gun go boom but most of the time it doesn't.
I never gotten more than two rounds fired in a row.
I thought it would be a good replacement for my geissele 3gun trigger.

I appreciate manufacturers coming out with new products for a weapons platform. I can even appreciate some of the gimmicky parts that come out for guns. New parts and designs keep the gun industry alive which means more competition and better products for lower prices. I also feel that newer designs and products help bring more new people into the shooting world which in my opinion is a good thing.

Did you contact the manufacturer about the problem? Mine has less than 100 rounds and had zero issues but I will report back after I get a higher round count.

Which trigger do you have?

exact same one as yours.  I built a new 3 gun rifle and wanted to try something other than Geissele.
Add the fact that I had to purchase some kns pins on top of this non working pos just pisses me off.

are you talking about the screw you can see from the top?  If so I've played with it and it still does the same shit as before.
