Have a 2006 and 2011 model. The 2006 model is freegin' loud to drive down the road, 2011 is much nicer but is having a surging transmission issue (I think recall).
Overall I think the newer ones are a whole different class of car than they used to be. The Contours are pretty nice too bro. |

I had a hatch version in that body style for about 3 weeks, 2014 model year I believe. I loved everything about it except for the transmission(automatic). Its a dual clutch and it behaves quirky, like it doesn't know when to engage or what gear to be in at low speeds and starting out. I could also hear it changing every gear unless at highway speeds.
Aside from that, it handled well, was built solid, and had good brakes. Research the automatic transmission, a lot of people have problems with them. I ended up buying a Mazda3. |

| I purchased a 4 door 2009 used in 2011 with 33K on it. This was when gas prices were crazy and my 1999 Ranger was getting only 21 mpg. I really like the Focus. It was a relativity inexpensive car (10,800 out the door) and I gets 37 mpg (mostly short highway driving). Car has 117K on it and and the only thing I did was brakes, tires and 2 sway bars. |

Outside of your range, but...
I have a 07 Focus. Just turned over 100K today. I'll admit to a couple years of 7k oil changes, just because they were so damned expensive in Germany. US spec car, only problems involved the wheel studs. I've had 6 break, but wouldn't put it past a torque issue when I took it to a German garage for a tire. |
| my mom and sister both have 2012's. I believe one car has around 55k on it and the other is around 40k. The only issues were the trans problem that Ford fixed under warranty and I believe all the 2013+ models have the fix already. my moms car would sometimes roll backwards when letting off the brake which was fixed under warranty. Other than that they have no complaints with the cars, they get good mileage and are a nice solid car. |

| My friend had a 2012 that I rode in frequently. It was a pretty damn good car. Plenty of features, good fuel economy, quiet. The voice command system thing was annoying, though, it often misheard instructions. My friend didn't experience any transmission issues, but I've heard of them in online reviews. I only sat in the back seat a few times and don't recall it being too small, I'm ~5' 9-10". |
