| I have a minibike that NEEDS to run. It has spark and compression but will not ignite any fuel that is inserted into it. Also it seems to be eating where it shits. Any common problems that sound familiar to my situation? |

Quoted: Check in this order: Spark (and spark plug gap) Fuel Timing Compression (cylinder, head, or valve leak) Also make sure the damn thing has oil in it before you crank it! Also when did it run properly last. Did you do anything to it? EDIT: Oops, I messed up. Can I delete this garbage? |

Had it backfiring doing this, didn't run though Quoted:

Run starting fluid in the air intake. It if runs you may just have jelled fuel in the carb. Might just need a good cleaning. Had it backfiring doing this, didn't run though You said it wouldn't fire any fuel you put in it and now you are saying it actually is firing some of the fuel. |

Ethanol will not dirty a carb, just harden or break up the gaskets. Quoted:

Ethanol has killed the carb. Clean or replace. Carb is cleaner than a bottle of bleach Ethanol will not dirty a carb, just harden or break up the gaskets. No it will do anything from mess up fuel lines and I guess gaskets to rusting the bowl to gumming up the jets. |

Carb is cleaner than a bottle of bleach Ethanol will not dirty a carb, just harden or break up the gaskets. Fuels and alcohols affect rubbers differently. Ethanol will form different deposits (commonly called gumming) as it is allowed to evaporate. Regular gas can leave gummy deposits behind as well. Additionally, ethanol can (not will) absorb water allowing for corrosion. Gumming and corrosion can plug you small passageways and jets. If you suspect this is the case, please check the nozzle, small brass or nickle jets, etc..... |

Entire bike was taken apart and put together again. Everything spins Was backfiring but now won't even fire Timing issue? OOPs didnt see this at first. I agree, timing is way off. place pistion at DTC, then check the cams, fix as needed |
