So I got a new (to me) "unlocked" IPhone 4s that is actually only unlocked on the GSM antenna, the CDMA side is  still locked on the Verizon network (translation EBAY seller was a liar) so I was unable to use the carrier I had planned so I am considering alternatives and am looking at Metro PCS, but I thought I would ask first.

The girl in the store claims that after the TINY 4G Data allotment is used up it will still function at 3G with no limits and no throttling, is this accurate?

However she also says that data can be cutoff for "abuse", but would not provide a written definition of "abuse" just how do they determine that, and is it just an arbitrary data limit?  If so how much?

Anything else I should know about Metro?

good to go in my opinion. not as good as Verizon in coverage but unlimited for 40 a month is good.

what she told you is correct and I never exceeded the threshold to go down to 3g so i cant tell you. just add your home wireless network and you wont burn data at home.

He is using an iPhone 4s, he doesn't have to worry about being throttled back to 3G, his phone won't go above 3G.

That is what I thought as well, but when she was looking at the phone to check comparability she said that according to the phone when the Sim card was inserted it was picking up a 4g signal, she thought it might have been upgraded software.  I have no idea if she was right or not, I can live with 3G, I just don't want to get cut off or throttled back to some ridiculously low number like 64K (That was what the fine print for Straight Talk said they throttle back to,that's not a throttle back, that's a fucking insult.).

Use Cricket if you can. They are GSM now and use the entire ATT network. I get 2.5gb LTE and unlimited talk and text for 35 a month
