Fracing doesn't cause earthquakes.

But if it did, I would start Fracing under Lawrence first.

Actually God has a lot of rules.

But there is no rule from God that says you have to enforce Gods rules on others by threat of fine or imprisonment.

You're right....its the pumping of all the water or other liquids into the ground immediately following the fracking.

While this might be true.  Why now?  Why is it only showing up with salt water injection and not N2 or CO2 injection?

Why did it take this long for earthquakes to start showing up when we have been doing salt water injection since the late 70's?

Lots of tremblers around there...

(...I know what I said)

fraQQin earthquakes, of course these quakes are happening at about 4 mile depth and the deepest they drill in Ks is only about 5k-6k ft.

Yeah, thats what doesn't make sense.  And if fracing was causing all of this why the hell didn't all this start back 30 years ago.

Yes, it has been around for quite some time, but it has increased in use dramatically over the last ten or so years.

Simply put:  More fracking = more disposal wells = more instability.

Interesting, in Texas they inject as deep as 13,000 feet below the Barnett shale, this would be roughly 2.5 miles, and.well below the 5-6 k feet of the fracking well.

Even though we have been in a boom recently.  I don't know if it comes anywhere near the rig count from the early 80's. (I would have to see the rig count data to confirm this.)

I simply don't know if there is more Fracing going on now, then say in the 80's or for that fact the 90's(when I started).

If it is, and that is a big if.  You would think with the decrease in rigs drilling, you would see a decrease in earthquakes.
