Thought arfcom would like this. This is the inside of the Shooters Arms Manufacturing company in Cebu Philippines. They manufacture 1911s for several different companies inside the US. I believe the Titan is the 1911 they make for the US arms market.
56k beware - Don't click the photos (There's two pages of photos, too many to upload here). http://knowledgeglue.com/guns-made-inside-filipino-gun-factory/ |

geeze, reminiscent of those Paki gun shops I'll bet dollars to donuts that some of the best firearms made in the usa are made in shops that don't look too much different than that in certain ways. their spaces are smaller, darker, and dustier, but the parts only give a shit about the materials, geometry, and surfaces when finished... |

We used to use a steel detailer out of the Philippines. Excellent quality, quick turn around, and good pricing.
One time when it flooded heavily, they sent us a photo of them still sitting in a foot of water at their computers, chain smoking and working away... |

Armscor makes the Rock Island Armory guns. I have one of their GI models in 9mm and it runs like a top. I couldn't be happier with it. Now Aimless' revolver, that's another story. Armscor, RIA and ATI guns are all made in that S.A.M. factory. Different brands, slightly different models, same machines, same workers, same building. |

Giving you the benefit of the doubt, when did this happen? When I was there Armscor, SAM, and Metro weren't even building stuff in the same city let alone shop. |

No. Armscor, SAM, and Metro Arms all have different facilities. ATI I think are made by SAM. |

Seriously, physically go to Novak's over in Parkersburg, WV. They do REALLY good pistol work, and their shop is more or less built into the back of an old house. It feels weird walking in the first time you go there. There's a dirt floor shop just north of me that does precision work for GE, among other companies, and on mostly manual machinery, to boot. |

ATI contracts various companies, SAM is their PH factory, they also have several factories in Turkey as well. |

My BIL had a RI 1911 in 45 and ran great until he put a pro-mag magazine in it. factory mags and it worked flawlessly. Then he bought an armsor 38 revolver. I don't know how well it shoots, but the trigger pull was at least into the double digits. It was a bit ridiculous. |

Here is a video from SAM showing them make the guns with some decent cinematography:

Yep. You're only as good as your materials and machining. |

I've worked in shadier machine shops than that.
I have an ATI 1911 made there that I got for <$300 new last year. The slide, barrel, etc, were fine, and the grips weren't the pallet wood abortions my friend's Rock Island had. Having said that, sear was a bit soft so it started dropping the hammer and then occasionally going full auto after 150 rounds.
I've shot full auto pistols (Glock 18 and Skorpion) and enjoyed them. I did not enjoy the sudden 1911 in FA at all. It was less hassle to throw a $15 sear, and $8 sear spring in it than to mail to to ATI. That seems to have cured it. |
