Make sure you "fling" the pistol and bullets at the target when you fire.

Relax your elbows and place your tongue between your teeth.  And have someone videotape it!

Nope. Load some .45 Colts and .454casull first before riding the lightening.

His name was NorthBridge.

Meh. That muzzle brake on the end is VERY effective. Firing .460 ammo, the recoil is comparable to firing hot .357 ammo through a 4-inch barreled gun.

454 Casull is like maybe a 44Spl

Touching off a 45LC round will make you think the gun misfired.

These are all just my opinions, however.

The recoil on my 460V was actually not too bad.  Certainly no worse that my 4in. 629 with full house loads.

HOWEVER, the damn muzzle blast is not unlike the concussion wave from throwing a stick of dynamite out about 30 yards and letting it go off.

I'll never forget shooting mine out in the back yard one afternoon while my wife was napping.  After I touched one off, she came running out the back door screaming.  She thought I'd manage to blow up the propane tank or something similiar but she thought I was toast in any case.

I was probably 40 yards from the house and she said she could feel the house shake like when it thunders after a close lightning strike.

ETA:  Be sure to keep your weak hand back away from the cylinder gap when firing.  Some poor sap blew one of his fingers off (almost) from the flame.

Easier to shoot than a .500 S&W with heavy cast loads; you'll be fine.

dON'T SHOOT YOURSELF IN THE FACE WITH IT.

Nah, you'll be fine.

Just remember to get a video of your first time shooting it.

I'm sure the muzzle brake goes a long way in taming it.  I fired a .454 Casull that wasn't ported.  After three shots, that was enough.  I don't want carpal tunnel.

I wish I knew someone that owned one, I used to enjoy shooting a 45/70 TC Contender, I wanna shoot a 460 and a 500 S&W to compare...for science.

I have the 4 inch model. It shoots nice.  But it will fucking destroy you if you use hot ammo

Edit.  I assumed it was a 500.  I have never shot a 460

"You'll put yer eye out, kid."

Shouldn't be that bad, don't tense up too much.  Have fired a 45-70 BFR and was surprised how mild the recoil was.

that's the low-powered loads version....got flutes in the cylinder. You'll be fine. 95 pound women shoot that thing one handed.

Your limp wrists will be fine but your forearms will likely snap in 4 or 5 places.

I enjoy shooting my Ruger Alaskan .454.

Yes, a .460 is bigger.  But that revolver is also much larger than my 2.5" snub nose.

You'll be fine.
