I just ran into a cartload of about 125 pounds of #9 shot.

I don't reload for shotguns and plan on getting rid of it.

I use #6 for rabbits, squirrels and pheasant.

Who uses #9?

What for?

It works good for dove loads and loading shot shells for handgun rounds like 357 and 44 mags.

Skeet shooters.
Find a skeet range nearby and you won't have any trouble selling it at $30 a bag.

Should be easy enough to melt down for handgun projectiles wouldn't it?

Thanks.

I thought it was along these lines.

Incidentally, I heard that skeets were on the endangered species list.

I used 9 shot exactly once because I forgot to place several boxes of shells in my pack before a weekend dove hunt and the small hardware store I stopped at only had three boxes of 9 shot left over.
It still killed several doves.

Wrong alloy.  It has trace additions of certain elements to increase surface tension so when the molten lead is dribbled, it forms nice spheres which solidify as they are falling through the tower.  That is how shot is made.

Not worth it to refine 125 pounds of shot.  Sell it and buy good casting lead.

It's used in 410 loads...all skeet shooters use it.

Only the orange ones, because they're easier to see.

No. I've missed plenty enough for them to get away and breed!

It's good for making burlap bags tossed in the pond and full of things that might float, stay sunk.

Just sayin.
