Anyone ever heard of General Dynamics?  Was doing some shopping and ran across this, this morning, looks like Canadian gov ammo.  General Dynamics 5.56

Since it's available might as well get some while the getting is good.

55 cents per round

Just go to Walmart and get ZQI ammo. Mine had tons of it on a Saturday afternoon and there didn't seem to be a rush. $0.33 per round all day.

GD has been involved in military arms production for a long time.  I have never seen their ammunition sold domestically before.

General Dynamics makes nearly all the small arms propellant used at LCAAP.  They bought the Olin plant at St. Marks in FL.

ZQI is the best M855 deal still available.  Unfortunately it is drying up quickly.  In 24 hours Swire's page went from over 2,000 stores showing ZQI available to 1,600 stores with ZQI available.

GD-OTS also owns the Valleyfield Propellant plant in Canada.. They will use Ball Powder from St. Marks to load 5.56 and other ammo in that Canadian facility.

GD? just one of the largest defense contractors in the world.

GD-OTS

GD Parent Company

First I've seen them doing civilian sales.

The source of this ammo.  I don't see. NATO circle cross bunting so it isn't conforming.

General Dynamics designation for their SS109 type projectile is the C77

It was available (projectile only) at Wideners before the panic for $60 per 500 shipped, and recently for $70 per 500 shipped.

Wideners C77 $70/500

Wideners C77 $520/4000

Part highlighted in red above is total bullshit.

"In 1953, a fledgling company called Rocket Chemical Company and its staff of three set out to create a line of rust-prevention solvents and degreasers for use in the aerospace industry."

Stand corrected.  Off by a few years.  Not invented "by" but "for" GD.   My dad worked at Plant 19 (GD/Convair) in San Diego (torn down to make room at Lindbergh Field)

"In 1953, Norm Larson of Rocket Chemical Company developed WD-40 as a corrosion protector for missile covers for the San Diego-based Convair, an aerospace and defense contractor and a division of General Dynamics."

"Employees at General Dynamics discovered that WD-40 was perfect for a variety of home uses, and they began sneaking the lubricant home from work. By 1955, Larson began experimenting with putting WD-40 in aerosol cans, and in 1959, Rocket Chemical Company responded to the consumer market for a home lubricant by contracting with an aerosol packager and preparing WD-40 for commercial sales"

Not sure if you are aware, ZQI shipped all ammo out from their warehouses... so of course you would have seen an amassment of ammo around thursday/friday/saturday.  The stores which normally got 5-6 boxes a day started seeing 100+.    This was their last shipment of 855 ZQI ammo.

So no, your store probably does not have any left.  If you followed the neckbeard thread going on here in GD people bought anywhere from 50-150 boxes at a time.

And if you are referring to the cans, no, they are not 33 cents per round at all (double that price).... that's why the cans are still there even after two panics

I had business out of town and stopped by a nearby Walmart to see if they had any ZQI left. Only one box on the shelf, but the friendly manager went to the storeroom and brought me nineteen more. Then he said "We aren't supposed to divulge this, but a huge shipment of this ammo will be here by Wednesday."

I thanked him sincerely, and said, "See you Wednesday."

That place is hilarious.  Kind of like a Tim Burton movie about a Dickens workhouse.  Slanty wooden buildings and leaky steam pipes everywhere.

We had a guy on our local Facebook gun page trying to neckbeard American Eagle 55gr for 89 cents a round

(I am guessing he bought the boxes at walmart and didnt realize there was a difference between green tip 62gr and 55gr) I imagine he is at walmart right now buying green paint. We ridiculed him till he deleted his post.
