[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Bulleit (Page 1 of 2)

Quoted:
I was drinking Bulleit for a while, lately I started drinking Buffalo Trace, which I like a little better. Buffalo Trace has been my go to bourbon for the better part of the last 10 years. Evidently it's also become the same for a shitload of other people because my normal store has been having supply issues in the last 6 months or so

I also did a similar to this thread when I 'discovered' it. I had heard that Bulleit and Buffalo Trace are closely intertwined, either they are distilled at same facility or BT supplies the mash and other material needed to make Bulleit. Both are good and I enjoy them both. |

I fear that once it makes it back to the shelves that the price will have increased. |

Quoted:
Bulliett is sourced from 4 Roses. Its goos, but 4 Roses Small Batch is better. Also try Rare Breed and Baker's. Weller is a wheated bourbon which makes for a nice change. No, it isn't. 4 Roses does make fine whiskey, but they don't make Bulliett, Stitzel-Weller does. Tom Bullietts office used to be Pappy Van Winkles. |

I was torn between a bottle of single barrel 4 roses and a Wild Turkey American Spirit last weekend, and I noticed plenty of Buffalo Trace on the shelves. you can pretty much count on BT being available around here. no one has mentioned Woodford Double Oaked. It's very smooth straight up, as is the American spirit. |

The most over rated bourbons on AR15. I have had it many times and its not very good. Harsh and medicinal to be fair, Bulleit is a pretty inexpensive bourbon. You won't get $40 whiskey from a $25 bottle. I don't really care for it, either; the Bulleit Rye is better. For the same ( or less) money I'd just as soon have Jim Beam Black Label. |

I was on a backpacking trip this weekend with lows just below zero. Good times!
One of the guys brought shot glasses made in ice molds and for the first time, I had some sipping Blanton's around a roaring fire in a pure ice glass. This.....this was what heaven is like. |

True but for the price, Elijah Craig 12 year is a FAR better bourbon. The love for bulleit on here is one of the most confusing things on this site. EWSB is also way better |

I have an unopened bottle on the shelf right now. |

Diageo confirmed that Bulleitt is all 4 Roses. In 2008, Diageo made a rare, definitive statement about who makes Bulleit Bourbon. "Bulleit Bourbon continues to be wholly distilled at the Four Roses Distillery in Lawrenceburg, KY according to exacting standards developed by Tom Bulleit and the Bulleit Distilling Company. Bulleit Bourbon’s bold flavor is the product of a unique recipe featuring a high proportion of the rye grain and the use of a proprietary yeast culture. As with all Kentucky straight Bourbons, Bulleit Bourbon is aged in charred barrels made from new American Oak and contains absolutely no additives whatsoever." http://chuckcowdery.blogspot.com/2014/02/who-makes-bulleit-bourbon.html?m=1 |

This. I think the Bourbon is the best on the Market..... but I love the Rye even better. I have not tasted enough other Ryes yet, but so far... it is the best. Quoted:
