How many hours of sleep do you average per night?
2/21/2015 2:07:01 AM EDT
[#1]
7 hrs
2/21/2015 2:07:32 AM EDT
[#2]
5-6
2/21/2015 2:09:25 AM EDT
[#3]
6 to 7. I just recently went to days 6-2 from being on a 2 to 10 shift and it's a bitch. My sleeping habit is trashed.

[#4]
6 or so.  Who are the person people getting 10+?
2/21/2015 2:28:25 AM EDT
[#5]
4-5ish. I work till 1:30 am usually and can't sleep right when I get home. I still have to get up early or I won't have a life.

Just placed the first "what's sleep" vote, because that's my life these days.

2/21/2015 2:43:58 AM EDT
[#7]
Not nearly enough. Maybe 4 hours.
2/21/2015 2:44:27 AM EDT
[#8]
On weekdays I sleep around 10pm-3am. Friday/Saturday it's usually something like 4am-1pm.
2/21/2015 2:55:40 AM EDT
[#9]
Seven to eight consistently. I've always been a big proponent of getting eight hours of sleep as much as possible.
2/21/2015 2:58:52 AM EDT
[#10]
Hard to say. Sometimes 3-4 hours, sometimes 10-12 hours. I'm funny that way.
2/21/2015 3:04:38 AM EDT
[#11]
Days off: 8 hours
Working: 5 hours

I work four days (4:30a-4:30p) then four days off, then four nights (4:30p-4:30a) and four days off.
2/21/2015 3:23:29 AM EDT
[#12]
~3 hours in the night before shift, ~3 hours in the morning after shift with the margin of error shifting towards - rather than + time sleeping.

Two votes for FBHO?

They probably just don't remember how many of those hours were actually with the Ambien Walrus.

Sunday-Thursday about 7 hours

Friday night and Saturday night 8-9 hours occasionally more.

[#16]
Well, how many hours I'm in bed, and how many hours I sleep are usually pretty different.

On usual days (work days) I hit the sack around 10AM and try to sleep until 7PM. (I work nights). You would think that's 9 hours. But most days I only get about 4 hours of sleep. If I take some nyquil, or generic with DM in it, I'll usually sleep a lot more, but try not to do that more than once or twice in a week.

I really don't know how people stay alive sleeping only 3-4 hours per night. It's one of the most important (and easy) things to do for your health.

Sleep deficits are serious.

It's rough for sure. I wish I could get more but I just can't sleep for at least a few hours after work and if I don't wake up early I have absolutely no life. There's some days my damn eyes burn all damn day and I'm grumpy as fuck but I survive.

9-10.

I suffered for a long time with severe sleep apnea before I knew what it was or that something was wrong with me.

Now, I take great pleasure in sleeping.

I try to go to sleep between 2130 and 2200. I usually wake up 5-10 minutes before the alarm goes off at 0430. On the weekends I might go to bed and wake up a little later.

I work the overnight shift, go to school, and have kids. Temporary sacrifices for long term gains.

This. I make time for sleep. It keeps you healthy. 1030 to 0630 is achievable for me most nights.

3 hrs

In the last 7 days less than 10 hrs.

I try to get 8 but sometimes working night shift its closer to 6. The people getting 1 or 2 hours a sleep a night are full of shit or destroying themselves.

I voted 5-6. But that's being generous. On most nights I'm lucky to see an hour between my wife's snoring and my daughter constantly waking up for whatever stupid reason she wakes up for.

7-8. If not my overall quality of life sucks.

I voted 5-6, but that's best case.  4-5 is probably closer to average.  3-4 isn't unusual.
