Been doing this damn firewatch job at one of the local refineries, man is it boring. Literally, stand around all day and do nothing. On the other hand, I'm not breaking my back diggin a ditch let alone even working up a sweat. Boring but extremely easy. Good practice for bow hunting [;)]. So who else here makes a decent living doing next to nothing? What is or was the best combonation job/pay you ever had? |

One time I was the night monitor at a substance abuse halfway house. I was paid the princely wage of $6 an hour to lay on the couch, watch cable tv, drink coffee and do my homework. One every 3 hours or so I had to "tuck the kids in" or make sure the residents were in their beds. They didn't pay OT, but I didn't care. I quit because 2 of the days were on weekends. |
