| We have a fairly new Visio tv in the main room. I did not set it up that day and all has seemed ok until recently. Occationally, certain shows are to wide for the screen and we use the format button on the remote to resize the picture. But even with that, certain shows are still to "wide" for the screen ( we only know this when there are words on the screen, weather warnings, 1/2 of a main character is Onscreen, etc). Is there a setting that I need to change??? |

Is your aspect ratio set to 16:9?
Some stations have started providing a trimmed version of their 16:9 HD signal for their 4:3 SD station. This results in some graphics being "cut off" by the "black bars" that appear on the left and right of a 16:9 screen. If your TV is stretching these 4:3 signals to 16:9, the bars disappear, and the "cut off" info seems to be off of the screen. |
