that is not an ambulance drone, it is a first aid/defib drone at best. AND it requires a competent conscious person nearby who can magically know what the fuck they're doing over the phone. So, guess we'll put you on the do not respond list? all im saying is it is not an ambulance drone. it is a supply drone. i see it helping in some cases, but being mostly hit or miss. ETA: again, good intentions, i just doubt how useful/cost-effective it would end up being. the defib would be good, but i doubt how well an untrained person would be able to deploy it with phone instructions under stress. |

Still need someone on the ground to provide breaths if needed, Also if it is to be a full code the drone can't do chest compressions or administer drugs. Don't know if they can outfit it to provide shocks and monitor the heart rate and rhythm. if it carries any painkilling drugs, or even some non narcotic medicines, i guarantee burner phones will be used to rob them. |

Drone AED. Much better than no AED. i agree, but it just reeks of lawsuits, theft, and cost ineffectiveness. ETA: i could see this being extremely effective for supply delivery to medical personnel who can access areas that ambulances cannot, or larger drones that can actually lift a couple hundred pounds to get a patient in a difficult area to a more accessible one, or even all the way to the hospital once stabilized. |

That's kind of a scary thought. Replace ambulances all together? |

Don't know if they can outfit it to provide shocks and monitor the heart rate and rhythm. Being silly here.. They could have the drone (wish they would quit calling them that, they are RC aircraft) placed on the victims chest. Craft could then deploy defib pads, trach tubes, injections or even chest compressions by flying up a foot or so and dropping onto victims chest. Now seriously, I think it's a great idea. Think of some guys way out in the desert/forest that have a problem. EMS can be just a few miles away, but getting to the victim could take them hours over rough terrain. |

It might buy you the extra 10 minutes for the para-medics to get to you. |

how about we just make AEDs cheap enough that they can be everywhere, just like fire extinguishers, so no need for drones. Or better yet, lets stop putting fire extinguishers everywhere and just have some drones that can carry a fire extinguisher to the exit nearest you and now when you see a fire you just call on your phone.
