In anticipation of my new stock set from IWD, I am breaking my rifle down. Is the wood on the upper handguard removable. Im confused. How will I get the new guard on????? HELP. Anybody have any experience with IWD stocks??

grab the metal gas tube with one hand and grab the wood handguard with the other, then twist 180*.

You should then be able to pull it off.

It WILL come out. But not always easily. It may not look like it, but it does just twist out. I've mangled handguards getting them out, so I'm not the best one to ask as far as a good technique. Your best bet would be to ask on the AK side of the board.

I popped mine off with just a little bit of force. No big deal.
