used colt anaconda in 44mag. 8"ported barrel walnut grips. An older model 2x aimpoint is mounted on an aftermarket scope rail.

Priced at 850.00. Is this high?

I don't know. It's more than I would pay for it.

But I'm a cheap SOB. [BD]

Excluding the scope from 2002 Standard Catalog of Firearms...

NIB - 600; Exc. - 500; V.G. - 400; Good - 300; Fair - 250; Poor - 200

Used, I'd say >$600 even with the scope is high.

about a $100 too much...even allowing for heavy use with heavy loads...IMO...

It's probably a little high, but not much if the condition is right.  Look for gas cutting of the frame at the front of the cylinder.

The prices of these guns shot up when Colt stopped making them, and the prices of new or near new guns hasn't come back down.

The "bluebooks" (whichever one you like to use) are just a guide, and they miss a fair bit on some guns.  You really need to research some to find out what the general asking price is on similar guns and adjust that for dickering to the real sale price.

There are lots of them around, so there is no need to get in a hurry.

Buy it!

Then, when the barrel KBs due to lead build up in the rifling from the previous owner's lack of cleaning you can bitch and moan for months about what crappy firearms Colt makes!

Seriously, that price is a bit high, but if the gun is in pristine condition and is what you want, then get your wallet out!
