Like all software success stories, Flash started out simple and elegant, got widespread adoption, gobbled up by a big software company, updated until it's got it's own weather system, fast food chain, and 10,000 servile programmers justifying their jobs by adding stupid shit to it, and sadly still being used by a good portion of the internet. Adobe, like many companies that have come before, turns great programs into monstrous and not so great suites of poop.
