Does anyone have any experience with an edge?  Are they a decent SUV?  Hold their value well?

It's a cross-over based on the Ford Fusion.

I have a 2013, love it. I plan on keeping it for a long time. Any specific questions ask away....

My buddy's wife has one.  She likes it.  But it's not a SUV.  It's a sedan with a high roofline.

Wife has a 2013.  Works great.  No problems.  Not an SUV though.

I will say that the biggest disappointment I have with it is the mileage. I am averaging just over 20mpg

There are several websites that will answer all your questions about safety, reliability, value, etc..........Google is your friend.

This, they are a nice enough car but you need the little turbo to get good miles. We went with the explorer as it had more to offer.

I've driven them as rentals on several occasions, and actually thought they were pretty decent driving vehicles as far as cross-overs go.  Gas mileage was a little unimpressive though.

My mom has a 2013 Limited and it's a fantastic little SUV.

I would love one if it was just me or me and wife, but not with two kids and a dog.

I have one. When I don't need a fancy car (SHO and BMW) or a heavy duty truck (F150) it's the one I like for snow (AWD).

my dad had one in 2013 and drove it a lot, his gas for the year was bout $1,600

Parents have one.  Not a bad route to go if you're looking for a non-minivan FWD vehicle with three rows of seating but as already pointed out,it's not a true SUV.

In.  My wife and I are looking at crossovers and SUVs and these are high on the list.  The 2015s are going to be different so deals on the 2014s may be popping up in the next couple months.

I test drove one  with the 3.5 V6 several months ago.  It was roomy enough, acceleration was tolerable, fuel economy was so so, ride was good and not loud.  I test drove a similarly equipped 2015 Dodge Journey (cue the Dodge haters) last weekend and liked it more.   The Journey had more power and IMO the interior is nicer.  I like the looks of the Edge though.

Drove a rental that was about a year old.  A bit cramped and the seat was already sprung.  Plenty of bells and whistles though.

We love ours. It gets 19 mpg, very quite and pleanty of power.

It's a 2007 with 164k miles on it. No problem to report here

There's a new model coming out in 2015, so they may be looking to dump the '14s.

we're on our 2nd edge.  We traded a 2011 off last year because the PTU (awd transfer case) wouldn't stop leaking even after 2 'fixes' under warranty.   We got a 2013 Edge Limited but after a year we're thinking about looking for something different.  Neither of us think it's that comfortable and it only gets about 23 mpg.  I get 18 mpg with my truck so there isn't much advantage to it.

The one I drove was fairly comfortable but it was only a 10 minute test drive.  You guys talking about the fuel economy....what kind of driving do you do?  On a road trip my truck gets ~20.  If 20-22 is all that an Edge can get I could just get a half ton crew cab.

On a 300 mile trip down the interstate we usually average 23 to 24 mpg cruising at around 80 mph.

liked em, almost bought one but Fords Sync System was still new and unproven when we were looking. Too much gadgetry  - five ways to turn on the defroster but none of them intuitive (this was when we were new to touchscreens in cars...) the controls were just too busy , but they are good city rigs. As SUVish as an SUV that wont ever leave the payment without the terrible gas mileage.

Came very close to buying one, but couldn't find a color we liked (I hate their version of "black" with the green in it). Pretty nice vehicle overall.

Ended up going with a Fusion.

We had a 13 for 1 year.  It was a mid level SEL trim in awd.  Loved it, but we added a kid and traded iin for a odyssey.   Got 20mpg.

I work in a fairly busy garage, and the only thing i recall ever doing to them are brakes and wheel bearings.  Front bearings are press in BTW.

The ford escape, run away.

My wife lease two different ones. I tried to talk her out of leasing the firsts and ended up falling in love with it. Traction was super. We never off roaded it, so do not comment on that.
We turned our second one in this summer and was going to order another, but they did not have the new ones out for a while,,,,, maybe February.
One of the best vehicles I have ever owned and I have had a ton of new and used vehicles. I have 7 now.
We got a new explorer instead.

I have a 2011 3.5L V6 with 43,000 miles on it and haven't had any issues.  It gets 23 mpg on the highway and has been very reliable.  I would recommend it to my friends and family.
