Hiya guys.
Im just wanting some help here. Has anyone had any experience with Chinese made sights particularly iron sights. The reason Im asking is that a set of Troy sights will set me back by at least $300. There are however one or two places that import them for about $90 , These sights are made from 6061 aluminium and stainless steel. Do these Chinese made sights sound any good?? |
| Can you purchase from an american sight, and have them shipped there? I doubt sight are banned from export, and id imagine you could get a pair of good ones for $150 or less shipped. I'm not certain of this, but maybe someone could chime in. I'd imagine import would be fine also because of airsofters/paintballers probably use some types of sights as well which are essentially useless without a firearm. I could be wrong on all of this though. |

I have a nice Macbook made in China. Top. Notch.
I have a bunch of DX 18650 ssc p7 flashlights that fucking rock. Almost all of my polypro is chinese. My Giro ski helmet and my fucking awesome Oakley Flight Deck goggles were made in china. etc. If you buy cheapshit products, you're gonna get cheap shit products. If you buy quality stuff, you'll get quality stuff. |

If you want cheap crap, the Chinese are happy to make it for you. If you want a quality product, the Chinese are happy to make it for you. That said, there are plenty of US made iron sight options that are well under $300. Maybe not under $100, but there's a big difference between $300 and $90. Brownells has a YHM flip up set for $165. YHM ain't Troy, but my YHM lightweight FF tube seems nice enough. I would certainly prefer YHM to some no-name Chinese knock off sights.

As an engineer I have seen both so called made in the U.S.A. and Chinese , tested both and found both to be more than acceptable in the vast majority of items I have come across . The Chinese make stuff to milspec standards and they also make rubbish. I'd echo the optics though but theyre OK if you don't mind dropping or knocking around your range beater . I wouldn't mind betting that some of the so called 'Made in the USA' stuff is no more than badge engineered Chinese .
Leapers Inc is another one to add to the list of Chinese made. Caveat emptor any where you get your gear from. |

I have all kinds. My chy com sights are very well made but not up to troystandards. They work well. I went cheap on irons and dropped the big coin on optics. Yeah, if you want to shoot babies no sights are better than troy. I don't shoot babies, so buy other stuff. IMHO, Magpul BUIS sites are better than they are credited for. People overlook them for a metal (aluminum) sight which may likely be less durable. http://kitup.military.com/2012/07/back-up-iron-sight-drop-test.html |

My troy sights work great for that. Plus, when I saw your SN and avatar, the first thing I was thinking was "Gator's bitches better wear jimmies!" ![]() |
| if primary arms has chinese sights i would buy them since their chinese optics are pretty good quality for the price.as far as buying chinese sights from ebay or else where i would stay away. some items from china are total garbage and some a decent and it comes down to do you want to figure out if they are decent or not. |

This is the main reason why I dont buy sights from amazon at all. Same listings can be a gamble on what you actually get. You can however read reviews sometimes, and see which third party vendor actually has the good product, but that takes a lot of time. PSA usually has just as good of deals, and you know it's legit.

Quoted: Also to add to this. If you buy sights on amazon from a third party, sometimes you will actually get airsoft equivalent of the same product. Shameful. That's what Amazon's A-Z guarantee is for. I'd be pissed if a seller pulled that on me. |
