I recently purchased a used Gold Cup that has had a trigger job done on it. The trigger breaks at 1.5-2.0 lbs. I don't consider that to be safe, even at the range. I tried bending the mainspring and got it up to a little over 2.0lbs. I want a 4.5-5.5 lb. trigger.
Brownell's has "Cylinder and Slide" trigger pull kits that are advertised to be "drop in" parts. The kit includes sear, disconnector, hammer, mainspring, and hammer spring. It sounds like the only fitting that would have to be done would be on fitting the thumb safety to the sear.
Has anyone here had experience with these kits?

I have a 2010 Gold Cup Trophey that's stock and runs about 4 lbs.  I'd gladly trade trigger parts.

Its a target gun, they have light pulls -- leave it alone

Certain events require a different pull. President'a 100 Service Pistol Match requires 5 pounds for example.
