my washer was leaking, I pulled it away from the wall so I could get behind it.  The plug came about halfway out of the socket, I pushed it in and a large spark knocked all the power out.  I didn't hear any of the breakers trip and tried resetting them twice now and still no power.  Looks like power is out only in my apt.  Since gd is the only internet forum I'm on, here I am.  Any ideas?

Yes, I need to contact my landlord again, my washer/dryer is in a closet next to the water heater and something was leaking, but I couldn't see what and it might have been the relief valve on the heater and not a constant leak.  Told my landlord and he called someone who said it could just be the relief valve...so nobody came out.  So I was trying to determine if it was a leak or not, problem solved it's a leak.

Next question, is my washer toast?  Is there a short?  Seems like plugging the washer in shouldn't cause arcing, but maybe I'm wrong.
