| Why is Iowa such a big deal in politics? I seriously have no clue. |

Quoted:
First caucuses in the nation. whoever did it would be a big deal. Nothing special about Iowa. That's about it. After we take control of our state Senate today, we should have suppressors allowed next year. Only holdup last year was 1 fucking Democrat. Fuck Hogg. |

Quoted: I believe the premise used to be: middle of the country middle of the road common sense regular folks I was conceived in Iowa. ![]() Great people, excellent work ethic, family oriented...there are only 5 bad things about Iowa. November, December, January, February, and March. Winter is horrid...not seeing the sun for a month made me a very mean SOB. |

This is exactly right. Same with New Hampshire and all of the other early primary states. Winning Iowa sets the tone that you are in the lead. Quoted:

Be happy IA's setting the tone and not NY or CA, which probably could make a good argument for why they should (CA has the largest pop/economy in the country by far for instance). I think everyone can agree on IA, while most other states would be more partisan and wouldn't give as good an indication of how the national candidates would do in the general election. |
