How many of you actually run this "normal" temp?
Me? 97.1 consistently, any thing over, I feel like shit... |
|
I had one of my workers use one of the one time use digital thermometers in our medical cabinet come to show me he had a terrible fever of 98.6 and he needed to go home.
I laughed and told him that was perfect human temperature and to get back to work. He is a chronic abuser of "sick time" |

I have scar tissue , a lot of it, under my left arm, so it's not really accurate, and is normally about 96f if everything is good, while under the right arm it will show about 97 and change.
Thing is, when I'm having a bad panic attack and feel like I'm burning up hot, it will show real low, sometimes it doesn't register a number, or it's 95f or under. Anytime I've ever had the flu or anything, my temp, even by mouth is a degree or two below what a typical temp for that should be, whether it's a digital or old style glass one at home, or if it's at the doctor's office. If a thermometer shows 98.6 with me, I'm coming down with something. |

Last time I went to the doc I was 96 something, they commented on me being a little cold, pretty sure two degrees cold is startin on the path to hypothermia. They did nothing, and had me gown up and proceed to wait, until I changed the t-stat up about five degrees, which kicked the heat on throughout the clinic, then they lost their damned minds, but at least they brought me a warm blanket. What method, under arms, or in mouth, as opposed to sticking it up my bum? |

Try drinking more water. Most people are chronically dehydrated. Quoted:

I'm generally 1.5-2 degrees lower. Always, unless I'm sick.... 98.6 is a "fever" for me... I have taken my temperature back to back with my 3 daughters and wife with the same thermometer and I am always 1.5-2 degrees cooler. They're "normal"... I guess it serves me well down here in the south FL heat...

Who the hell knows at home??? I just took my digital "under tongue" health thermometer (the white one that always says 96.8 when I'm healthy) and stuck it in a cup of heated water with a digital thermometer I use for cooking. The results of either are less than re-assuring.... According to these results - I should be dead. |

There's no real normal temp for everyone. Current research shows that it's closer to 98.2 on average. |
