Oh yeah.  I remember when it seemed like it go either way between the Betamax tapes and the VHS tapes.

When my dad bought us a VCR for our family we thought he was the greatest guy ever...which he was of course.

We got our first VCR and my mom's friend gave us a tape with Gotcha!, D.A.R.Y.L. and Gremlins on it. Wore that tape out.

Since this thread is also about VHS, here's my cool starry bra. When I was a kid like 7 years old, my dad would buy bootleg vhs tapes from a friend of his. One of my favorite tapes had a few movies on it (in chronological order) home alone, the jetsons movie, and for some reason nightmare on elm street. I remember one night I was watching this tape in bed, I fell asleep watching the jetsons movie and woke up to Freddy Kruger in one of those murder dream sequences scene
