The first time I heard them do Viva Las Vegas was live. Just blew me away. They had exotic dancers on big shadow screens
and moved around stage on conveyers. Maybe theres concerts I have enjoyed more, but not by much. rockin ol scruff ETA I got a speeding ticket once from the Ga State Patrol. I was haulin ass in my ol 72 Challenger. When the nice policeman asked me why I was in such a hurry,(I knew I was gettin the ticket...) I said I had ZZTop on the tape deck, and you cant listen to CheapSunglasses and drive 55. |

Saw them in the Afterburner tour in the Omni in Atlanta. It was 1986
That was one amazingly great concert. The setup was like the dashboard of a classic chevy or something (everything was analog). At some point there was a bunch of smoke that rose up and hid the stage, as the smoke cleared the dash of the car had changed from analog to digital. The guitarists were on top of the speakers with their spinning guitars going. It was incredible. |

Well I was rollin' down the road in some cold blue steel,
I had a bluesman in the back, and a beautician at the wheel. We're going downtown in the middle of the night We was laughing and I'm jokin' and we feelin' alright. Oh I'm bad, I'm nationwide. Yes I'm bad, I'm nationwide. |

My first concert was ZZ Top opening for Grand Funk Railroad back in 1982. ZZ Top stole the show. LOL, ZZ Top OPENING for Humble Pie! Those are some of my favorite bands. I prefer the 70's ZZ Top. More real rock and blues. Tres Hombres, Fandango and Tejas... well, any 70's album. I'm old school, or maybe just old. |
