I see prices all over the board for different variants of 226's. I have a 226 manufactured in 95 used and looking to figure out a fair price to sell it for. Any input would be appreciated.

I don't use it at all.  It just sits and I could use the money towards something more interesting to me.

The old ones are much better quality than the modern ones and will last longer. If you do sell it, and I suggest you don't, sell it at full MSRP for the modern equivalent or do a trade for something you want more.

You could probably get between $450-550 for it depending on condition.

Taking off nostalgia glasses, the milled slide is stronger and requires less maintenance.

I urge you not to sell your P226. Everyone needs to have at least one excellent example of a double-stack 9mm handgun in their collection and the P226 is it.

But if you must, $500-600 is a fair price, depending on what comes with it.

I'll give you $20 and an expired coupon book for it.

And this. Despite the craftsmanship of the older SIGs, nobody is going to pay anywhere close to current new prices for a 1995 P226.

Keep it.

I consider the day I scored an '88 Bi-Tone from a LGS dope for $400 to be my finest gun shop moment.

When is the last time you've seen a new Sig with no rail?

Keep that thing, it's a collectors item now.

Mine isn't a '95, more like a '04 (Exeter slide / German frame) and took about 200 rounds before it broke in and began working right.  Ever since then it hasn't missed a beat.

92fs, P226, P220

That's about right.

Like new would be a bit more, beaten up would be less.

If you're near a city, list it on Armslist.  If you're in the country, put it on Gunbroker.

The variance in price is due to the bells and whistles!

Does your 226 have front cocking serrations? Does it have a rail? newer N/S, a short reset trigger, Rosewood grips, threaded barrel, stainless finish, etc etc etc . . . all of these extras can add to the sale price of a gun. That's why the Elite models are regularly 850-1200 depending on model and finish.

If you have an older model 226 with standard night sights I'd say 500 bucks is spot on (considering it's in great shape) if it has N/S that have gone dim a decade ago I'd say 475. If it's stainless I'd say 650+

YMMV according to state and region.
