How is their warranty service department, I've spent that last few weeks trying to get a reply and they don't seem to be very interested in responding after several email's back and forth, all I keep getting is "We will contact you soon" at first then no responses at all to my follow up emails requesting a response.
ETA: They took care of my 1911 and have gained my trust. Badasas manufacturer is badass. Springfield is worth your money. |

I have never had to use them but have a couple of Springers... I hope it goes good for you OP. |

Call 'em. My one Springfield CS experience was excellent and the issue taken care of immediately. I didn't email them though, I called. ^^This^^ One of the pegs on the ejector on my MC Operator broke clean off. Emailed them, and they told me to call. They sent me a return label, I had my Operator back in a little over a week, fixed the ejector, and fitted a new extractor. No cost, no questions asked, just great service. |
| Bent firing pin in my loaded. So i called springfield and the cs person i talked to just did not want to help me. Would not let me send in the pistol had me remove the firing pin and send it in on my dime. I no it hardly cost any thing to send it in but it was the hole thing and it took 3 weeks to get the new firing pin in. |

I've used their CS once with no issues....
ETA: actually there was an issue...FedEx would not release my 1911 to me when SA sent it back..I went to the local hub to retrieve it since I missed delivery, and they tried telling me I needed to be an FFL in order to take possession.
I was pissed to say the least and eventually did come home that day with my pistol, but only after several calls were made to fedex security and springfield (who to their credit were also pissed). |

They didn't respond to your email in some random acceptable time frame you decided on your own, so they are crappy? Call them and talk like humans and see what happens. I did that once, I bought a new in box Mil Spec 1911 (directly from my local fun shop which I deal with quite alot) a few years ago when they first came out. Literally pulled it out of the box and wiped it down and the finish came off in 3 spots. I informed Springfield of what happened and told her that it was brand new. She told me no, it was probably a used gun (which it was not) and that if I would send it in that they were going to charge me to refinish it. I said really on a brand new unfired gun? Was told yes we will charge you for refinish and return shipping. All I could say was WOW! After I told her I would provide a copy of the receipt that proved I bought it that day. So to hell with Springfield and their CS sucked for me. But that is just my story, others will vary. |

I highly doubt that she still works there if she kept that attitude. No I didn't AROCK her. She was just a straight up bitch, at least to me. I am not one to try to get free shit from anyone, I just wanted it made right. She made it seem like I was trying to get one over on her. Leaves you with a bad impression of the company for employing people like that. But as I said, results may vary. It's just my one and only story in dealing with Springfield. It was new being that when I bought the gun the mil spec line had only been on the market for 2 weeks.
EDIT: since I brought him up................ FU AROCK!!!!!!!!!! |

| Last year I sent my M1A in for a gas system issue. They fixed it for free, and judging from the invoice even installed a new extractor on the bolt. I bought this rifle used years ago and have no warranty paperwork of any kind, but they fixed it with no questions asked. Call them on the phone, that's what I did. |

| Why don't most of you buy a better part quicker then sending shit in and hoping they receive it and that they fix the right part etc and that they send back your firearm? I don't understand this. If a part breaks on a gun I own, I'm fixing it myself or taking to a local guy I trust. Ymmv. |

I think it's just that people like to bitch. I am really getting sick and tired of the hate the internet is breeding! The instant something doesn't go right... ALL HELL has to break out and they get bent out of shape! "HOW DARE THEY NOT BOW TO ME"! Yes I'm being extreme here, but I just had a troll on the internet cyber stalking me and sending me my personal info to me. So I am a bit pissed right now. But, if something is blatantly wrong like the finish coming off a brand new gun then yes I can see it. (did you really throw away that t-shirt? ) But like this recall issue with Remington... so many are pissing and moaning! It's just some glue on the screw guys! Get your man card out and fix it yourself! |

Who the fuck needs a warranty when you can fix it yourself at your own cost. Amiright? Springfield shouldn't have to fix shit and they need the money. |

Ive had excellent experiences with springer CS. Emailed about a broken trigger return spring in an XD, they called and said the parts are in the mail! 3 days later I had my spring. Off topic but I've had similar experience with SOG knives. Broke a pocket clip, no problem, part in on it's way. Good CS doesn't get nearly the press of bad. |
| I have had good service from them. I have one of the early XD-40 Tacticals. The locking block cracked after about 6000rds. A know issue with the early XD-40s. It never failed me but the cracks where slowly growing. Call SA up they had me ship it to them. I had the repair pistol back in 8-days and they refunded me the cost of shipping it to them. I have over 30,000rds through that XD since the repair. Call them up they will make it right in my experience. |

This was 6 years ago, but I received excellent service from SA:

Quoted: I've learned that in order to receive the best customer service from any manufacturer you need to pick up the phone and talk to a service rep. Springfield Armory service is generally considered to be among the best in the industry. Careful... you may get called an "employee" as well.

Have used their CS twice with a brazil made loaded. No issues with them, they were fast on communication and quick to send the fed ex label, quick with the repairs (actually beat their estimated time). Have used the Custom Shop 4 or 5 times and have had the same results.
Don't know OP, SA is well known for their great customer service. |
| The front sight on my Springfield 1911A1 became loose after owning/shooting it for a while. I contacted Springfield Armory and they sent me a return authorization #, I returned the pistol to them and they fixed it and returned it back to me free of charge. This was in the 1990's, hopefully they still take care of their customers like this now. |

While I agree with what you are saying as far as their 1911s are concerned, parts availability has always been one of the biggest drawbacks with Springfields XD line and a trip back to the mother ship is sometimes required for the simplest of problems. |
