The bedside guns thread got me thinking.

Does anyone keep guns stashed throughout the house?

Say, a pistol in the cupboard above the refrigerator or a phased plasma rifle in the 40 watt range in a sliding compartment in the coffee table.

Are they weather insulated? I've always wandered how this is possible.

Watchout for that 'hair' trigger

I don't but I know someone that does.
He has a little planter mounted on the wall near the front door with a pistol in it and one with a cheap holster that is velcroed to a recliner in the living room.
The holster is on the wall side so it's out of view to people.
I am sure he has others hidden as well.
This guy was severely beaten in a home robbery back in the 1990's and takes nothing to chance anywhere today.

I asked myself, what's more likely...someone breaking into my house when I'm home, or my children or one of their friends finding them?   It was a pretty easy decision.

What does that mean?

We live in Mayberry. Andy and Barney are retired.
Home break-ins occur during the day or night.
You don't think you will ever have an intruder in your home?

Are you trying to say that people who have been the victim of a home invasion or break-in made bad decisions?

Yea, stashed in my holster on my side.  Accessible all the time

I have a two story home.

There's a nearly matching pistol upstairs near the bed and another in the home office. Same type of biometric safe in both places.

I have a phobia of coming home and being ambushed with my own guns.

If it isn't on my hip or by the bedside at night, it's locked up in the RSC.

It's also quicker and more convenient to just have it on me,

Sure are.....easily done.....just have to check up on them now and then.  With todays sealants, cases, lubricants and corrosion inhibitors it is easy

I prefer to think of staging multiple weapons as helping SOMEONE ELSE rethink their choices.

When I was single, or married w/o kids I kept them stashed around the house.  It was convenient.   Now that I have a son I don't.

Several throughout the house, I spend most of my waking hours in the kitchen, downstairs garage, on the porch or LR and there is always something hidden away nearby. I live alone so no worries with the kids most of the time. I do put most of them away in the safe if the grandchildren come to visit.
