holy cow they are every where!!! this weekend they have come out like zombies, thousnds of the little bastards. |
| They are moving west into Indiana and beyond now. There are a few reports of them for the first time down in the very southern quarter of WI. When they start moving north, the company I work for will see an explosion in residential service for them. I understand, from one of our head entomologists, that we are monitoring the situation very closely. |

Do stinkbugs serve any purpose? Curious about that. I guess they're harmless enough. Just annoying. Harmless...if you think destroying crops is harmless. No other purpose in life, and from what I understand, very few natural predators here. Thus the explosion in their numbers. I use the shop-vac on them - must have got 200-300 of the rancid little fuckers yesterday afternoon. |

Not a stinkbug ... chalk another one up to common, colloquial names. Stinkbugs. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pentatomidae |

Hate them damn things. Is there any predator for stink bugs?! I had them come through the skylight on the roof. Now I see enormous crows up there, and hear what sounds like hammering on the roof. I can't see it, but I have to assume the crows are eating them. There seem to be more crows, and they are bigger than ever. |

As a kid in upstate NY I never remember seeing them, ever. When I see them in the house I collect them in those plastic Crystal Light ice tea containers and leave them in there to die. Outside I use a large spray bottle with dish soap and spray them and they die but that takes constant patrols around the house. So this year I am going to try this set up to deal with them. Plastic storage container filled with water with Dish soap with a light to attract them. http://i59.tinypic.com/w0kec.jpg interesting, are the floaters ones you tossed in there to kill, or did they go swimming on their own? |
