If you really want to remind everyone in your sig line that I called you a liar, why don't you start that thread you've been threatening me with for four days via e-mails? You know, the one with the poll that asks members who the real liar is? You get 150 words in one post and I get the same. We make our case and add the poll when we are done. It was your idea. Now follow through with it. C'mon, what are you waiting for? Let's get this over with. |

I don't condone slavery but the Scriptures here are telling slaves to obey their masters. I don't know if this means the Bible condones slavery but it sure as heck acknowledges it as a practice in society, atleast at that time. Some good people may understand it to mean that slavery does have its place. Another example: Ephesians 6:5, 8-9 "Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters...Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free. And, ye masters, do the same things unto them, forbearing threatening: knowing that your Master also is in heaven; neither is there respect of persons with him." (Bold added by Wobblin' Goblin) Again, not that I would agree with them, but since the Bible was so clear in describing the correct relationship between slaves and their masters, some might conclude slavery was a justifiable practice. Your whole arguement started to go down the fucking tubes right about here. Who in their right fucking mind is going to try to use biblical text to try and support slavery, besides some skinhead neo-nazi? You lost, you're a Raider, give it up. There's nothing more to say. Wobblin-Goblin, I just read the thread as well, you lost an argument and now your crying like a woman. This thread makes you look even more foolish. Your a small fish and no one would have remembered you from the old thread in question. But now you have brought on the attention that you crave. If somebody can copy and paste any quote of mine that says I think the Bible "approves" of slavery, I will step forward and issue a retraction and apology. All I said was that based on every Scripture verse that dealt with slavery the Bible either did not condemn it or actually reinforced the idea that slaves needed to remain slaves and should obey their masters. Based on what the Bible said about slavery, I commented that some good, Christian people could decide that slavery was a justifiable practice. I even said that I was uncomfortable with that assessment. Eric's beef with me has precious little to do with slavery. It has to do with a comment he made about homosexuality. |
